November 07, 2019

Earth and environmental sciences major Kylie Scullion ’22 has been involved with sustainability initiatives community since her first semester at Susquehanna.

Now project lead for Greek life and University Avenue, Scullion partners with our Greek organizations and plans events centered around sustainability.

Previously, she served as special events coordinator and organized events to gather and educate the campus community. She says her favorite part of the job is getting to see these events come to life and how the community interacts with and is informed by them.

For example, Scullion helped plan last year’s Earth Month event, where she was in charge of running a weekly environmental documentary showing event throughout the month. She also ran a sustainable craft fair in Mellon Lounge “where people could create items such as reusable bags from T-shirts, face scrubs, soap and boxes.”

After graduation, Scullion hopes to join the Peace Corps and possibly attend graduate school to continue her work in environmental science.

Scullion is also an environmental studies minor and is part of the Honors Program and Sigma Kappa Sorority. She is also an Honors Peer Mentor.
