A marketing internship led right into a job for Courtney Radel ’17.

After majoring in creative writing and minoring in both philosophy and publishing & editing, Radel landed a marketing internship at MI Windows and Doors, a manufacturing company in Gratz, Pa.

Eager to explore the business world, Radel used her writing talents and critical thinking skills and expanded her video editing skills during the internship.

“Studying philosophy developed my capacity for critical thought, which in turn allows me to be a better, more conscientious writer and to approach questions, situations and problems with a unique worldview,” Radel says.

She was hired as a full-time marketing specialist after her internship ended. She currently creates and edits videos, writes and strategizes content for different media outlets, and manages social media for the MI Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit charity organization that is sponsored and run by MI Windows and Doors.

“I didn’t realize until I was actually working in the real world just how much I’d learned and retained in my four years at Susquehanna that is applicable to life outside college,” she says.
