Student Government Association

General Information


Structure:

The Student Government Association is made up of an Executive Board, Class Officers, and Senators. There are five members of the Executive Board, which create the agenda and lead the meetings. There are two class officers for each class, the class officers help guide the senators in constituency correspondence and help create the class project. Then, there are 7 class senators in each class; they are also active in discussions with the rest of the body while also maintaining good relations with constituents. Finally, there is a number of Liaisons that act as links between the Student Government and various administrative departments.

Meetings:

SGA meets every Monday at 7 p.m. in Seibert Model Classroom (Room 108). Meetings typically last between one and two hours.

Public Forum:

All are welcome to attend an SGA meeting and address the Senate during public forum. Public forum usually occurs during the beginning portion of the meeting, so interested speakers are encouraged to arrive at 7pm and sign up to speak.

Committees:

Every senator is obligated to serve on a committee chaired by the appropriate liaison. These committees are utilized to plan events, advise administrative departments, and give input on important decisions made on the administrative level.
