The Technical Operations team supports the infrastructure of the university's network. "Tech Ops" responsibilities include the installation, configuration, maintenance, and backup of the university servers, phone system, firewall, intrusion detection systems, and network appliances such as routers and switches. Oversight of the university's Internet, Network Control Center, The Network Control Center's Uninterruptible Power Supply, Network Cabling & Fiber, and telecommunication circuits is controlled by this team. They also administer all major university applications including Colleague and Benefactor, BiTech, and Judicial Officer. Tech Ops also manages and supports all vital campus databases. If you can't see "it" but it is critical to the successful operation of our network, it is probably the charge of the Technical Operations Team.
Tech Ops provide the lead on new innovative services that support the ever-growing university needs. These new services include the First Alert Emergency System, Unified Messaging, cell phone-friendly buildings, next generation wireless solutions, network storage, high-speed Internet services, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
