CHIEF ELECTRICIAN Susquehanna University seeks a chief electrician to supervise staff and contracted electricians and direct the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrically powered systems and equipment, including electrical distribution systems, kitchen equipment, fire detection, emergency and security systems. This is a working supervisory position and includes all the duties of a working electrician. Minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational or technical school in electrical construction or maintenance; eight years experience in electrical construction or maintenance, including at least five years of supervisory experience. The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics and work orders as well as knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements such as National Electric Code. Position requires proficiency with hand and power tools needed to perform duties of electrical trade, including electrical test equipment; training and certification in the use of high lift equipment, scaffolding and ladders of varying heights. The position requires frequent heavy lifting and working occasionally in electrical manholes and other confined spaces. Strong managerial and communication skills are essential.
