Philosophy & Religion at Susquehanna University

Department of Philosophy & Religion

The disciplines of philosophy and religion are central to the life of a university. In philosophy, one learns the value of living an "examined life" through critical thinking, rigorous analysis and argumentation. In religion, one begins to understand the motives of many in the world today whose deepest personal levels are shaped by their religious faith.

Each has its separate courses, but both focus on good argument, tolerance, an appreciation for vital pasts and the freeing of the human spirit. And philosophy and religion have practical application in many professions.
