Focus Australia
Focus Australia is a program of study concentrating on the history, culture and biogeography of one of the world’s most arid countries. A study tour to Australia is approximately 22 days in length with stays in New South Wales, the Northern Territory and far northern Queensland. The trip includes opportunities to spend time in the rainforest, scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, visit Alice Springs, walk at the sacred aboriginal sites of Uluru and Kata Tjuta and tour the historic and beautiful city of Sydney. The tour itself functions as a prerequisite for the two-credit reflective course that requires a written review and a group project, both of which will be completed during the following semester. Two courses (Biological Issues in Australia and Environmental Psychology) should be taken in the spring semester prior to travel.
