New Science Building

In 2010, the Department of Chemistry will move into a 75,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art science building.  The new facility will be the largest academic building on campus and will include 19 teaching and research labs, 30 prep and support spaces, and a rooftop greenhouse.

Chemistry faculty and students will enjoy new labs designed specifically to facilitate student/faculty research, and improved spaces that will allow for “workshop” classes, where lecture and lab experience can take place in the same place, at the same time.  The new building will also feature teaching labs designed to promote “investigative” lab experiments.
